Greenway Trail

The Greenway Trail is paved, which makes for nice easy riding. The trail runs for 30 miles along the South Platte River. The South Platte River has a great deal of historical significance, so there are a number of historic markers along the bike trail that give information about the history and people, as well as information about local birds and wildlife. There are many sites worth your attention including Confluence Park, Riverside Cemetery, My Brother’s Bar, Hudson Gardens, Chatfield State Park, and Waterton Canyon.

Bear Creek Bike Trail

The Mobile Bike Man team also recommends this 20-mile trail that runs from the South Platte River along Bear Creek till it reaches the town of Morrison. There are a number of paved bike trails that run off this trail, making some great long 40 to 60 mile loops that reach to downtown Denver. Along the way, some of the highlights include the town of Morrison and the iconic Red Rocks Park & Amphitheatre.

Cherry Creek Bike Path

This is another great paved trail that starts at Confluence Park and follows Cherry Creek all the way to Franktown. The trail is over 40 miles and is both popular and scenic. Some worthwhile highlights include Cherry Creek Shopping District, Four Mile House and Historic Park, Cherry Creek State Park, and Castlewood Canyon State Park.

Clear Creek Bike Path

Clear Creek Bike Path is over 20 miles of paved path that runs along Clear Creek from the South Platte River all the way to Golden. Some of the worthwhile sites along the river or nearby include the Coors Brewery and Colorado Railroad Museum. There are also some awesome dirt trails that run up to North Table Mountain, South Table Mountain, and Green Mountain. These trails are a great way to see some of the best views of Denver. Because they are steep and rocky they are generally recommended for intermediate and advanced riders. Make sure you stop by the shop for a bike tune-up before you get into this heavier terrain.

High Line Canal Trail

This trail is considered on of the longest urban trails in the U.S. It travels 71 miles from Waterton Canyon, through suburban Denver, to an area south of the DIA. It is a National Landmark Trail that is relatively flat, lined with lovely shade trees at points along the way, and a number of parks and great stopping points. Many people choose to ride segments of the trail because it crosses several major roads along the way and has no over or underpasses. Trail highlights include downtown Littleton, Chatfield State Park, and the Aurora Natural History Museum.

First Fridays are a fabulous time to experience the Art District on Santa Fe. Over 5,000 art enthusiasts make their way to the district to experience a lovely evening of art, food, and fun. The evening, which runs from 6:00 to 9:30 p.m., also features, culture, the very best local food trucks, and more, but mostly it’s about the art.

Take in the SPARK Gallery, which is Denver’s original art co-op, featuring mixed-media and explorative pieces or the Access Gallery which offers work from disabled artists. Fine art photography can be viewed at The Fastidious Fotog and VERTIGO displays large-scale pieces. The Art District on Santa Fe has over 60 galleries—there really is something for everyone.

Stay to Enjoy the Rest

Besides being home to Mobile Bike Man in Denver, the Santa Fe Art District offers cafes, yoga studios, hair salons, bookstores, design stores, lighting stores, tattoo parlors, and more. It is a great place to browse or buy a statement piece for your home. It is also a great place to take in a class or a workshop—offered in various places throughout the area—or enjoy a show at one of the local theaters. There is a local storytelling group, The Narrators, who performs at The Buntport Theater Company on every third Wednesday (free).

Everybody Needs to Eat
